"Where are we running?" - poetry
Author: Meruyert Morgan
In this world, in the world of the 21st century, we are running, rushing towards achievements. Every day we're in a hurry, especially in big cities like New York, Moscow, London, etc. These cities are a good example of a current life style, a kind of "constant race". And one day you look at this, you look at yourself and finally you realize that in this "race" we miss the most important moments, we forget about the best things in life. We don't take time to stop and to get the taste of life. We run, we rush and "scroll pages in the phone", but in fact those are the pages of our own lives...
But... Where are we running? Basically this poem is about all of us, at least about most of us, people of the 21st century.
Perhaps, we should realize that our focal point and our final destination is a grave yard. Remember about it: we hurry exactly there, not to another goal.
We should slow down, smell the air, watch the sea, stop hurrying and start living.
Cause life is about living, feeling and enjoying every single moment, not about running to nowhere, basically. So just enjoy it all, "stretch" every single moment and feel it deep under your skin...
"Festina lente", or
"Make haste slowly."
(Augustus, the first Emperor of the Roman Empire)
